Convert a local clock reading into an exact instant
Choose the city where the original time is meant, enter YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm, and choose the destination. The source zone interprets the clock reading. Press Convert time, or use current time to reset the source. Changing inputs clears old results so you cannot accidentally copy an outdated conversion.
The full converter can compare up to five destinations with one source. Add another city to see the same instant in a different zone. Swap uses the first destination as the new source and retains the instant after a successful conversion.
Beijing to Los Angeles: summer and winter
| Source in Beijing | Destination in Los Angeles | Difference |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-10-13 09:26 | 2026-10-12 18:26 · UTC−07:00 | 15 hours |

Los Angeles changes between standard and daylight-saving time; Beijing currently stays on UTC+08:00. Choosing a named IANA zone uses the entered date’s rules. A fixed abbreviation such as PST does not represent Los Angeles all year.
Missing times, repeated times and precision
New York’s 2024-03-10 02:30 was skipped by the spring change and cannot be converted as an existing local time. Its 2024-11-03 01:30 occurred twice. This tool presents both offsets rather than silently choosing one. Invalid calendar dates and unsupported zones produce a specific error.
The supported input range is 1970–2100. Far-future results use the rules currently known to your browser; laws may change. Copied results contain the city, complete date, IANA identifier and UTC offset. Read the DST guide for examples, or use meeting planning when you need to compare whole working periods.
